Cockroaches
This past week I've found cockroaches hiding all over my kitchen!! I'm furious.
I am a very clean person almost to obsessive at times so I know they're not from me. The apartment complex had an exterminator come in yesterday and spray but as of last night they were still ruling their kingdom. I absolutely 100% hate bugs, especially anything in a beetle form AKA cockroaches. I'm on a new diet cause I won't eat anything from my kitchen and I can't afford to go out.
I'm so furious cause earlier this year I had an infestation of spiders that I had to have the complex bring an exterminator out for and now this. I might as well move to the forest and not pay rent for it.
Has anyone else had this issue and any tips? Also if you had an exterminator come did it take awhile for them to go die or did it not do anything at all??There’s a promise I need you to make
While I’m gone you take care of the love
And I’ll deal with the hate.
Don’t worry about me; I’ll be all right
Just care for your children and sleep tight
I’ll keep you safe on my watch tonight

Cockroaches will be here after we are long gone. It is near to impossible to get rid of them. One thing you can try is Boric Acid. Sprinkle it where they are congregating most, in cabinets, under your kitchen sink, doors going in and out of your house and around the baseboards. Now you have them trapped and no way for them to get in or out. Now have your exterminator come to kill the ones inside. Retreat with the boric acid as necessary.
My dad, I miss him every day.

Don't take it as a statement of your hygene. We had them here before, and my wife and I tend to be clean freaks.
I used raid roach traps. They have the trap, as well as a self contained chemical pack that you squeeze to activate and leave in dark areas. There was no issue with contaminating food or surfaces, and it got rid of them. The chemical pack is supposed to kill the eggs while the traps kill infect the roach while giving them time to go back to the others and spread it. I haven't seen once since.
Now, if you can get this damn mouse that avoids my peanut butter filled traps and eludes the Boxer and Malinois, I'd be happy.
I'm tempted to just let him live here. Getting chased by the dogs causes more damage than just being a mouse."Like" us on facebook! https://www.facebook.com/pages/Offic...93147194083228

There are bugs and beetles and spiders in the forest, too. Autumn. We won't tell the Bureau of Land Management. They might make you pay rent.I might as well move to the forest and not pay rent for it.
That might be a good thing, depending on how you look at it.I'm on a new diet cause I won't eat anything from my kitchen and I can't afford to go out.
Seriously, go the Boric Acid route. It creates a barrier that these critters will not cross. If they do, it gets stuck to them and they carry it back to their nest. If it interacts with moisture, it will dissolve them.

That's why we have cats. They catch the mice and play with them to death. Then bring them to "mommy and daddy" and ask why their new toy won't work anymore. Though I don't expect having cats to be conducive to having dogs. They usually are the ones who end up being chased. Then you would really have a problem.

We live in the country and have hay fields around us so we are getting field mice in our house like crazy. We did the trap route and and that didn't work so we finally got the cat you see on my avatar. She has caught 3 of the buggers in the last week. She is very, very good at her job!
My dad, I miss him every day.

I've always been a cat person. We had two until a few years ago when my wife developed a terrible allergy to them. They were great mousers.
Now, if you haven't seen a malinois chase everything that moves, I'd suggest it. Baz is good, he's just a mutant and tends to run through things.

That's funny!
Our kitten is like that when it comes to mice. She chases them everywhere, even where she can't fit!

When I was a kid in Hawaii, we had HUGE cockroaches. They were everywhere, they would walk down the streets, they were in the schools, etc. The would get a few inches in length

Where I grew up, the cockroaches FLY. At night, when it's dark, you can hear them flitting around and then when they land on the walls, you hear a "thump". No joke.

Go to the Home Depot or something and get a Boric Acid-based roach killer. One of them comes in a yellow can, called Roach Prufe. We put some in the walls of our house when it was being built, and never have even seen a roach/
It's basically borax - poisonous if you eat it, but pretty harmless otherwise - In fact, Wikipedia says it's about as toxic as table salt - But roaches lick themselves like a cat, so when it sticks to their feet they lick it off, and it's very poisonous to them, and it lasts for years.
If you see them coming out of cracks under the baseboards, behind cabinets, etc, get one of those little rubber bulbs with a nozzle on it and blow as much of the stuff you can up in the cracks.
Just don't put it where pets walk in it or where it can get in pans or glasses - But it's safe to put it in inaccessible places in food & dish cabinets, behind the microwave, etc.

I have no advice for you since I've never actually seen a cockroach anywhere but at the zoo and in biology class...but I give you my sympathy. Bugs are ookie.

WTF do you have roaches for? You're up north like me....we don't have roaches.
I've honestly always believed that was the case. We don't get roaches up here because it's too cold. Can anyone back me up on this??
