X-Mas Shopping
So,
I have two little boys (which most of everyone here already knows) but this is the time of year that I love
I have such a great time, going up and down every toy isle at every store looking for the best gifts ever.
Usually I am nagging my wife "Can we go yet, Can we go yet, when I shop with her unless its Vicky's Secret) but for once I heard it come out of her "Can We Go Yet"... UM HELL NO, we have to make sure we get our boys everything and anything that looks cool, you have have to spoil the crap out of them this time of year.
I could care less if you buy me a scarf or a pair of gloves etc but we are not leaving this store without buying everything we can for our kids! (well within reason, cops dont make that much money)Somebody Please, what the hell is that smell?

I have two godson's about your kids age.
And I hate shopping for them. It's weird. I hate Christmas shopping in general because I am so afraid of getting someone something they won't like.
Including my 1 yr old godson.

Ah, with them being under 5, they will be happy getting anything, they actually appreciate and love everything you get them. My older nephews, well since they are now teens or almost teens, they are not thankful for anything, bunch of whinning *(%&&#, when they should be thankful because they have a lot.
Oh and I love buying toys because like PGG said, I get to play with them too

With 6 grandkids, 5 of them girls, and the ages from 2-12 we decided to give them what they want more than anything....MONEY! The 2 youngest girls are saving for their American Girl dolls. We were going to buy them outright for them til we saw the cost. (damn doll is about $125.00) plus their parents want them to earn the money for them themselves. So we just give them all money, the same amount, that way there is no preferencial treatment.
My dad, I miss him every day.

I love Christmas time too. No kids to shop for except my niece and she has just about everything known to man...so except for a pony I dont know what else to get her. lol
I can just imagine how fun it is Christmas morning to watch the kids open thier presents...

Take her somewhere, just the two of you.

I love Christmas, too. My niece is a young adult now, so she asks for gift cards. When she was little I'd go to her house early every Christmas morning so I could be there when she opened her gifts and saw what Santa brought, I miss that. One of my friends has a 2 year old girl that I'm very close to, and I love buying things for her.
My nephews don't know it yet but they're getting a new Playstation for their mini man-cave so I'll probably get games for them. My 2 year old nephew will be easy and fun to buy for. I was told nothing not to buy anything too noisy. I said okay.

I find it easier to buy gifts for children than for adults, because children are more likely to be happy with whatever they get. With adults you have to worry about whether they already have something, or if something will offend their political/religoius sensibilities, or if a gift is sending an unintended message (e.g. exercise equipment or a self-help book). etc.

Call me a scrooge or whatever.
Christmas has a tendency to be over-rated and way too commercialized for me. Sure it's fun to watch the younger cousins open up their presents and a great excuse to get together with family. Getting caught up on each others activities and enjoying one another. But it seems that way too many these days are concerned with getting gifts and not celebrating Christmas as to what it's true meaning is.
The Birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
What makes Christmas hard for me is that I miss the ones who have gone on before. Yes, I know that I will see them again some day, but still I miss them.

My stepdaughter (CountyWolf's kiddo) wants gift cards from stores she loves. I may just give her some cash instead. My daughter, I've got no clue.
