Winter wonderland
In less than 24 hrs we've gotten 15 inches of snow in town, with a large majority coming last night. Most of the night I was busting drifts over the front of my hood, wading through snow up to my knees, digging cars out, and sliding all over the streets. Been LOTS of fun, seriously. I love that stuff.
Anyway, one of my partners managed to get his squad stuck last night.
He called me on the nextel and asked me to come help get him out. When I got there, my VERY unnecessary radio traffic went something like this:
Me: 9910 - radio
Dispatch: Go ahead
Me: I'll be out on a motorist assist, 123 Any St....10-28 (vehicle registration) when you're ready
Dispatch: Go ahead
Me: MN personalized, P-O-L-I-C-E.
Dispatch:Silence
Dispatch:Silence
Dispatch:Silence
Dispatch:10-4?
There was no way I could pass that up when the thought popped into my head. And man, if looks could kill.No one has greater love than this, to lay down ones life for ones friends - John 15:13

That's awesome.
I did that to myself one time when my car broke down. Dispatch still didn't catch on when i called for a tow truck for a white, four door passenger car with markings on the side and a light fixture on top."Like" us on facebook! https://www.facebook.com/pages/Offic...93147194083228

I actually laughed out loud when I read that. I wish I could have seen dispatch's face when you called that in.

Sounds like you guys are having fun with that one. Here I thought that my once every 10 years annual snow dusting was news.

That is funny, and having worked dispatch before I can tell you they were laughing their asses off that's why they didn't respond.
Temps today 20 degrees, wind chill 8 degrees, lots of sun, light dusting of snow this morning though
My dad, I miss him every day.
