Worked my third straight night of -10 to -15 degree weather. We're in a deep freeze for another week or so. Nothing too eventful, just cold.

Today there was a high of 12. Only 4 more months of winter.
For the morning will come. Brightly will it shine on the brave and true, kindly upon all who suffer for the cause, glorious upon the tombs of heroes. Thus will shine the dawn.

Colorado is finally warming up a little after the cold snap a few weeks ago. Back then, I was working Third Watch in -10 overnight, with highs during the day of 15 or so. Now we're in the 30s or 40s during the day, teens and single digits overnight.

-10 air temp, -30 wind chills, no snow coming down...just lots of frigid air. It almost never snows when it's this cold outside.

They're predicting 11 degrees Thursday night for Dallas, and 16 degrees Friday night.
That rivals the lowest I've ever seen it here since 1979, when the low hit 7 degrees in the 1990's I think. The high should be below freezing Thursday & Friday. This is shaping up to be the coldest winter that I've seen in about 10 or 15 years, I think.
Right now it's about 28 degrees. Tomorrow the high is only 40.

Ok, so I am a cold weather dumbass. I went to get in my truck this morning and the windows were frosted. I did what I always do, pour cold water on the windshield. All that did was add about 1/8 inch of ice to the windows.

Yea, it was 17 degrees.*************************"It wouldn't take much for me to up and run...to another life somewhere in the sun."
