Pharmacy Break-in

Early yesterday morning, suspects reported that a "meth lab" had exploded on one end of the town where I work. While local law enforcement responded to the call, the suspects proceeded to travel to a pharmacy on the opposite end of town. They busted out a front window of the pharmacy, entered, and committed a theft. (before business hours)
The take: (you're gonna love this) less than one-HALF of a 1000 count bottle of GENERIC lortab... Not that any amount would make it "worth" it, but give me a break...

Is there a dollar amount they were trying to avoid going over, something that would change the possible charge to a felony?

I'm reasonably sure burglary is a felony everywhere already, and 500 Lortab would be as well.

That's a good thought, but I think stupidity makes more sense!

Our local pharmacy robbery suspect has been taken into custody around here. We had a guy that was coming in during business hours and jumping the counter to get the pills. Bold as hell.
