I'm shuttin' this computer off soon....
Cuz my daughter messed up the whole thing on this computer by downloading and listening to the musics using the Real Player. ARGH! One of the music contained a trojan three nights ago. Once the file was deleted, some (critical system files and program files) with it are also deleted causing this system to go haywired on me. I woke up after this apartment has been painted and some furniture moved around. Turned on the computer nice and slowly and testing. The WordPerfect went nuts, so the "error" boxes, etc. GRRRRRR!!!
Now I have to clean this up and restore it back with the softwares. I hate re-installing them over and over and then download patches etc from some of the sites. Glad I got all those new softwares so I don't need to worry about it. I told her NO MORE downloading the music unless she asks me first. I have to check with the anti-virus first before I download it to the computer. She hasn't yet. <sigh> Some teens can get wild and "I wanna that one", and then get embarrassed once they know they did something to the parents' computers.
The only thing working is the internet browser, oooh, that's just great!!!
One thing, how can I find the password "automatically fill-in" thingie so I can put it on my CD?

I'm BAAAACK! After checking and then defrag it and then re-do the tests... aaah, I'm done. I'm all smiling now that this computer is back to the original state of working machine. Phhhft to some computer technology.
LEF, I'm surprised that your computer was affected also by that trojan bug. I hope we all have healthy computers.I SEE NEKKED PEOPLE! AIN'T SKEERED!!!!!

Yep, Dayna.
Accord, diddya get someone pregnant on the way? You might get an envelope with the child-support packet from a female companion.

You guys should just get a good antivirus software like Norton or McAfee and keep it on and updated, it blocks and removes almost everything out there.

04-18-06, 11:30 AM #16I have it on and updated. But some trojans can be so new or may be unaffected by any anti-virus software.

First use all these programs:
Ad-Aware - Auto Removal
Spybot - Search and Destroy - Auto Removal
Microsofts Antispy - Has good script security
Norton internet security
HighJackThis - Good for Manual removal
X-Cleaner - Good for the big well known adware
Using all those programs should remove 99% of spy & ad ware. If it is something complicated then a google search to find instructions how to manually remove it is the way to go.
To lower your chances of having these problems:
use MOZILLA !!!!!!
That is about all the advice I can give.
Also, to prevent getting them
