Plasma or LCD?
The wife and I were snooping around Best Buy (yes, they let me carry there) and are looking at a new TV. A sales rep gave his opinion that plasma was a better but for the money. He told me that a 42" will last between 10 - 12 years. I looked at a LCD and a plasma side by side with a HD hookup and couldn't tell the difference. Anyone here have any input on the subject?

There was a good article on on this in Consumer Reports recently. The issue with the plasmas going out after 5 years has been resolved in the most current versions. According to consumer reports, the newest plasmas should be for for around 15 years.
This may also help in deciding what to go with. http://www.audioholics.com/techtips/...P_plasma1.html

True or not true...I heard that Plasmas when you wanna get rid of them you have to pay a hazmat fee.

I heard Plasmas get really hot, and sometimes have slightly noisy fans, while LCDs are fine.
