Indulge a proud dad for a minute...

Last Thursday, while my parents were in town from PA, I took my son to his first professional ball game. It was 20 years ago almost exactly that my dad took me to my first game (proud grandpa's the one in the background with the hat with the fox head on it). Just thought I'd shareThe world would be much cleaner if blind people carried brooms instead of sticks.

The tools are there. I played for most of my life, I'm 6'3", my dad 6'2", my brother 6'5". On my wife's side, her dad is 6'5" 350, her younger brother is 6'6" 325 ish. Both my mom and her mom are left handed, and he's showing signs of left handedness.
Combine our height, some of her family's size, the baseball gene from me, and left handedness and you have all the makings of a very desireable first baseman. The world would be much cleaner if blind people carried brooms instead of sticks.

I'm hoping mine can play golf. It has a senior tour, can be played while drinking, and placing 20th still pays pretty damn well.
Great pic though.

Police Officers put themselves at risk for strangers every day. Some do not make it home to their families. Next time you think of saying something negative about the police, remember...YOU are one of the strangers.

"It's a great life. You risk your skin catching killers and the juries turn them loose so they can come back and shoot at you again. If your honest , your poor your whole life. And , In the end , you wind up dying all alone on some dirty street. For what? For nothing. For a tin star."
Far from being a handicap to command, compassion is the measure of it. For unless one values the lives of his soldiers and is tormented by their ordeals , he is unfit to command.
