MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT O/R IS EXPANDING
We are happy to announce that we will be expanding soon! Nothing will change as far as the flavor of the community, the moderators, and our law enforcement verifications. It will remain the same place you've come to enjoy as a member. What will happen is that we will be going to be working to open the site up to a much larger and relevant audience to help it grow and become even more active.
Since our humble beginnings five years ago as a simple forum, OR has worked to be the best place for social and professional networking in law enforcement. Our members include those who work in law enforcement and their family members, as well as LE supporters in the community at large. We gather here to talk about law enforcement and life in general. We not only share our lives with the public, but we share critical information in important areas such as safety, tactics and the daily war against crime.
Through our impending expansion, we want to not only continue our mission but spread it out to reach even more people and bring them in as new members of the community.
It is important for me that everyone understand we are NOT going to be taken over by a corporation or lose any control of the site. I've seen what happens when a site is taken over: it loses its identity. All of us here on staff, and you as members, have worked too hard to build OR into what it is for me to ever let that happen. I will remain the owner of the site and forums and our mods will be the same. My vision for the site hasn't changed.
More information will be coming down the line soon regarding specifics, but I want to give you a heads-up so that it didn't seem like a complete surprise when it happens. I know you're going to like what we're doing, and it really will help us grow to be the best place around for our online family.
