To my brothers and sisters in Tx and La

It looks like we’re going to get a break and be able to take a vacation this year since my 94 year old father will be in rehab for a while and that relieves us of our care giver duties.

It looks like we’ll be able to leave around July 2nd and head for our first stop which will be Dallas then on to Austin and San Antonio. After we’re done in Texas we want to head toward Baton Rouge for a look at the plantations.

Does anyone have a must see sights, cautions or any other information that may be useful for the areas?

I might add that we'll have two llittle Bostons Terriers with us and they normally go in a pet stroller while we're sight seeing so any any information on locations were they would be prohibited from going would helpful also.
