You KNOW it's hot when...
you see somthing like this:

*************************"There's something inherently wrong with having to put on a bullet-proof vest and a gun to go to work."-(An old friend)

Sad thing is I took that picture. It was such a good idea I was in a pile of ice directly across from him.

I just checked the weather for tomorrow. Apparently we are having a cold snap with the high in the low 90's and a 40% chance of rain. The rain, of course, will last just long enough to raise the humidity level a few percentages.

When it hits 120 degrees here, I'be be afraid it might crack the concrete... there have been lawn sprinklers that pulverise it when they suddenly bring it from almost 150 degrees down to about 50 on the surface.
They just had a slab break last week that threw a softball-size chunk against the side of a car - And it's not even 100 yet!
I think they've also blamed the Dallas water main break on heat - It flooded the Police/Courts server power supply room, so they were trying to figure out how it's done with pencil and paper.
Needless to say, a lot of people overstayed their welcome on the outgo, and just disappeared waiting around for the uptake.

Every once in a while during the summer, a section of highway will buckle here. I haven't heard about that in a while though. I wonder if new technology has corrected the problem.
