if anyone is ever near Austin (or San Antonio, really...it's equidistant), make a slight detour and go to Lockhart, TX and eat at Smitty's. I've eaten a lot of bbq at a lot of places (both famous - like Arthur Bryant's, Sonny Bryan's, etc - and not famous) and this was the best brisket I've ever had. Seriously...my brother lives in North Austin...Lockhart is an hour away, but next time I'm visiting, I will gladly drive the hour out of my way to eat. The best ever.
