BBC - Earth News - Wind turbines wrong colour for wildlife
Wind turbines have for years been responsible for the deaths of many birds and it would seem bats, changing the colour might help apparently.A study has revealed that a wind turbine's colour affects how many insects it attracts, shedding more light on why the turbines occasionally kill bats and birds. Scientists say that turbines, most commonly painted white or grey, draw in insects. These then lure bats and birds - as they pursue their prey - into the path of the turbine blades.
Support for the idea comes from another study showing that bats are most often killed by turbines at night and in summer, when insects are most abundant.

Airplanes "murder" birds all the time too.
Shit, my Trailblazer SS took out a crow once too.
And I just "murdered" a chicken a couple days ago. It was tasty! (SERE is like #3 of PITA's shit list)

Bah humbug to wind turbines! Knock them all down and build something sensible, like a nuclear power station. At least that way the wildlife won't die. They may glow in the dark, but the road kill will light the highways for free.
