Hazelwood, MO officer struck by car
Last I heard, he is not doing well and may never work as a cop again. Get well brother!
(KSDK) - Charges are not expected to be filed against a St. Louis woman who struck a Hazelwood police officer late Tuesday night around 11:00 p.m. in the 700 block of Dunn Road in St. Louis County.
Police say Officer Danial Kenner had pulled over to the side of the road, then exited his car before a 1998 Dodge Stratus hit him.
Officer Kenner has undergone surgery and is in critical condition.
At this point, it's unclear what Kenner was doing in the road. Hazelwood police cars are equipped with dashboard cameras, but Officer Kenner was behind his police vehicle, so the camera did not record the incident.
The 20-year-old woman who was driving the Stratus was on her way home from work when the accident happened. Police say she saw the car on the side of the road, but did not see Officer Kenner. She realized she struck something and returned to the scene to find the officer. She then called 911.
Kenner is a two-year veteran of the Hazelwood Police Department.

My prayers are with Officer D. Kenner and thank God the lady had sense enough to return to the scene and call for help."This flag, which we honor and under which we serve, is the emblem of our unity, our power, our thought and purpose as a nation. It has no other character than that which we give it from generation to generation." Woodrow Wilson, 1917
