O/R wants to know (crimes in bad weather)

O/R wants to know: have you seen people take advantage of adverse weather to commit crimes?

It seems to me that auto burglaries go up when it rains. One example is that we have a mall with a cinema on it's perimeter road here and you could almost count on an auto burg at the cinema if there was a light rain at night. They seem to occur more at apartment complexes during overnight rains too.

    How does rain help burglars?

I would assume that it reduces visibility, the amount of people outside to see crimes occur, and it also dampens sound. Then again, it could be purely coincidental, I don't know.

I would think they assume breaking into cars in the rain is safer because they assume the cops won't be out in the rain.

Back during late summer we'd have several kick in home burglaries when it was raining. I guess they knew we'd be responding to BS alarms because alarms like to go off when it rains.

We seem to have the same problem here. Mobile is usually the rainiest city in the country so we get that a lot. They probably just assume that we're not out riding around as much when it rains.
YOUR ATTENTION, DO I F@#%ING HAVE IT?
