Louisiana explosion
I sure hope none of the Swamp Mafia was placed in harm's way.
From Rueters: "At least four people were injured after a New Iberia, Louisiana, chemical plant was hit by a series explosions late on Tuesday afternoon, according to local media reports.
The blasts took place at the Multi-Chem Group plant in New Iberia, located 78 miles, from Louisiana's capital of Baton Rouge.

This happened about 20 miles southeast from me. I don't think anyone from that immediate area is a part of the forum.
Last I heard on the 6PM news is that they aren't sure what chemicals are involved, but there is a 1 mile area evacuated around the explosion.

yeah, I don't think we have anyone from New Iberia on here - but I'm pretty sure there are a couple from the surrounding parishes
apparently State Police Haz Mat called in a contract group that deals with this type of crap and they have it "controlled" last I heard at like 1800 hours yesterday...
seems like someone is out for Louisiana lately... - Gulf oil spill, Mississippi flooding during a drought, this mess (oh yeah, I'm sure I missed something...) - we must be pissing off the wrong people down here
well, something good has to come from all of this, maybe it'll cause a mutation in the ecosystem down here and make the game for the fishermen and hunters bigger
then we'd need bigger pots

I heard that the floodway openings is to make crawfish a bumper crop and prices are going to drop and the season last longer.sho hope so.

I was working, on my way to the house about 20 miles from New Iberia, buddy texted me saying there was an explosion out there. Got home and watched the news like everyone else in the area.......
