Even when it sucks, it's great
As you may guess from my avatar, I love baseball. I'm one of those nerds that soak up every stat, watch whenever it's on TV, spent a large portion of my life playing, etc etc. It's a love affair of 23 years now (Im 28).
Saturday night, myself, my wife, my son, and 2 friends joined almost 47,000 people at Coors Field to watch the Rockies play the Brewers.
I've been to many games in my life. This one was by far the most miserable. 95 degrees, hour long rain delay to start the game, thus making it 95 degrees and humid. A 23 month old in 95 degrees is not fun to deal with. And the Rockies lost, which, as a Pittsburgh Pirates fan, doesn't really bother me, but they lost to the Brewers which hurts the Pirates.
But you know what? I still loved every minute of it. And, it was my kids first ever Major League game (discounting the one we went to a week before he was born). The world would be much cleaner if blind people carried brooms instead of sticks.
At communion, when the priest says "Body of Christ", I say "Thanks, I've been working out", then I grab the cracker and run back to my seat

They've got us surrounded? Good. Now we can fire in any direction. Those bastards won't get away this time.

As far as the thread title goes. Is it bad that my first thought was "why is he referring to her as 'it' "

Baseball? Oh you mean Rounders, a game played in England by children until they are old enough to play a proper game.

Although I would personally rather watch grass grow than watch a baseball game, I'm glad you had fun and made a family memory!
I really wish I could get into baseball. It's fun to go to the game in person but half the time I couldn't even tell you who won if I go. Friends laugh at me because I like watching golf but find baseball boring.*************************"It wouldn't take much for me to up and run...to another life somewhere in the sun."

Pirates are competitive this year. Lots of good young talent. Hopefully they won't let their youngsters get away like they have in the past. Clint Hurdle is a damn good manager and McCutcheon in centerfield is fun to watch.

"It's a great life. You risk your skin catching killers and the juries turn them loose so they can come back and shoot at you again. If your honest , your poor your whole life. And , In the end , you wind up dying all alone on some dirty street. For what? For nothing. For a tin star."
Far from being a handicap to command, compassion is the measure of it. For unless one values the lives of his soldiers and is tormented by their ordeals , he is unfit to command.
