What Is The Most Unusual Government Job That You HAve Ever Heard Of?
I heard that our state DNR is hiring people to inspect watercraft for weeds. That seemed sort of unusual to me. Lets hear it. What is the most unusual government job you have ever heard of?

I'd be cheating... I live and work too damn close to DC and it's accompanying puzzle palaces. There are folks around here collecting government money for just about anything you can think of -- and quite a few you can't.
Locally, though... My employing government has a guy who's job is to collect unauthorized signs on Saturday morning. Yard sale, realtor, "FREE MONEY"... you name it, he collects 'em.Voting against incumbents until we get a Congress that does its job.

We have the sign guy here. You can see him tooling around on Saturday mornings with a cup of coffee, picking up code violating signs.
The weed guy is logical to me. Transferring aquatic life from one body of water to another is a pretty serious thing. It's recommended that you inspect your boat, remove visible aquatic life and mud, empty and wash livewells, and wash the boat well before moving from one place to another.*************************"It wouldn't take much for me to up and run...to another life somewhere in the sun."*************************"There's something inherently wrong with having to put on a bullet-proof vest and a gun to go to work."-(An old friend)
