Happy Camper
I turned my car in for routine service yesterday. I've worn down the new brakes that were put on 3500 miles ago.
They put on new performance rotors and brakes for me. They also put on snow tires for me. Instead of the worn down studded tires from last winter, I got all new Blizzaks. I drove Blizzaks last winter and they outperformed the studded tires, big time. I'm very pleased with the results of the service and I'm ready for winter, which starts here very soon.

Xiphos' Winter UnitSI VIS PACEM PARA BELLUM-Ex-Sheriff Martin Howe to Will Kane in "High Noon"
"It's a great life. You risk your skin catching killers and the juries turn them loose so they can come back and shoot at you again. If your honest , your poor your whole life. And , In the end , you wind up dying all alone on some dirty street. For what? For nothing. For a tin star."
Far from being a handicap to command, compassion is the measure of it. For unless one values the lives of his soldiers and is tormented by their ordeals , he is unfit to command.

I've considered getting Blizzaks for my pickup due to where I live.
It's tough to justify though when it's hard enough to just replace my tires, let alone have a winter set. That, and up until last winter I'd never gone in the ditch due to snow/ice.No one has greater love than this, to lay down ones life for ones friends - John 15:13

Blizzaks are run here in the winter, too. Good stuff.

I only drive on Blizzaks in the winter, wife too. She has Blizzak WS-60 for her car, and I run Blizzak DMV1s on my truck. The difference between a good snow tire and the best all season tire is huge. They say a snow tire will have at least 30% better traction than the best all-season tire. Highly recommend if you live in the snow.

What are these special tires you speak of? You don't use the same ones year 'round?

I use to work for Firestone as a general service tech a while back and I can def say that Blizzaks are the end all top of the line best winter tire money can buy. Its makes any ride the smoothest ride through the snow. It will make your car feel like Mercedes Benz S Class its that good. However I strongly urge at the end of the winter season it would be wise to change your tires back to your street/all weather because dry pavement will cause the Blizzaks life cycle to be significantly shorter.
