Couragous-the movie
I actually thought I remembered a thread about this, but I couldn't find it.
My wife & I have planned on seeing it the past 2 days, but she's not feeling well so we've put it off till next week.
Has anyone here seen it?

I saw the previews and it looks like an excellent movie.

I'm familiar with their work. I'm actually impressed that a small budget movie financed by a church & staring its members was such good quality. Of course, being put out by a church each has had a Christian based theme & some pass because of that. But their earlier 2 (Walking With Giants & Fireproof) were good so I expect the same here.

I've seen many on my facebook friends list singing its praises after seeing it. I've not seen it.

on his wearing his sidearm. "Sheriff, I see you have your pistol. Are you

Wife & I just got back from the movie; got to see it along with my brother & his wife.
Good stuff. Yes it is more of a faith based movie than a cop movie, but I have no problem with that. It has a fair bit of humor mixed in as well as drama.Blessed are the the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. MATT 5:10

Couragous-The Movie
I want to see this movie, also. I am actually in Atlanta right now for 6 weeks of training. I remember reading that this was filmed here in Georgia. My oldest son is in Sheriff's Explorers, so I think this may be a good movie to see with my wife and both sons together.

I have seen Fireproof and Facing the Giants, and I must say I was quite impressed.
Fireproof was actually recommended to me by a cousin of mine when my marriage went sour. Even though my marriage didn't recover and is ending in divorce, I have learned so much from this movie. I even have a copy of it, along with the Love Dare book that goes with it.
Facing the Giants was recommended to me by a elder (missionary) in my church. I finally was able to see it on TV through the Inspiration Channel.
Courageous was brought to my attention at a local 9/11 celebration and am looking forward to seeing it if it is still in the theaters, otherwise I'll have to wait until the DVD comes out.
If you are looking for other Christian faith based movies to see, another one I would recommend watching is Forever Strong. This one is based on the coaching career of Larry Gelwix.
I have met Larry Gelwix in person and heard him speak on various occasions. He is currently serving as a LDS Mission President for the LDS Fresno, CA mission.A talented but troubled high-school rugby star gets a second shot at redemption after being sentenced to serve time in a Salt Lake City boys' home and landing a coveted spot on the famed Highland High School rugby team in this inspirational sports drama from director Ryan Little (Saints and Soldiers, Everything You Want). Rick Penning (Sean Faris ) was the star player on his Arizona rugby team until his life took a turn for the worse. Now, after a fateful brush with the law, Rick finds himself out of the spotlight and forced to ponder the consequences of his actions in a Salt Lake City juvenile detention center. As fate would have it, however, Salt Lake's famed Highland High rugby team could use a player like Rick. With a little help from coach Larry Gelwix (Gary Cole), Rick may even be able to lead the Highland High team to the national championships. When Rick discovers that the team they'll be competing against is none other than his old team from Arizona, which is coached by his father, Richard Penning (Neal McDonough), the deciding game takes on a newfound sense of gravity in the eyes of the ambitious young athlete. Arielle Kebbel and Sean Astin co-star.
