What do you want for Christmas?
Yes, it's that time of year again, where everyone has to ask that dreaded question: "What do you want for Christmas?"
I used to stutter and shrug when this question was posed to me, only to be equally frustrated when others would respond the same way to me. The last couple of years has changed that. For hubby, I never ask, I just wing it and it generally seems to work. But when my parents ask, it's a different ball game. Two years ago, I asked for my bathroom to be redone. I already had the new tub but I didn't have the drywall or anything else. Fortunately my bathroom is about the same size as a postage stamp, so my dad sprang for drywall and other supplies and my brother and best friend came over and voila. This year, my parents asked what I wanted, and the answer came up. I need a real spare tire. Not a doughnut. I will also be raiding an old car that my dad has that may have compatible parts for my car. It's a beater, but she's reliable and I want to drive her till the wheels fall off.
Practical gifts FTW.
That said, I have no idea what to get for my parents.

We don't buy each other anything for Christmas, but if everyone here wanted to chip in and buy me something it would be the Toshiba thrive android tablet!

I've just gotten back into photography. I was big on it in high school and college when the medium of choice was film, but never got into the digital side. I decided I needed a new, cheaper, hobby than shooting, so I picked up a Nikon D7000 DSLR. I would gladly take any of the more pricey photog accessories that I want...namely lenses or a Nikon SB 700 flash!

I have no idea what I want. I usually buy what I need because I am impatient.

And since that's probably asking for too much, I'll be happy with a 2012 Hemi Charger - - preferably in a metallic blue.
(But I'll take any color.)

Well I guess now that I'm a pastor I probably need to invest in a robe for Sunday Morning Service. Just found out those things run at least $400 for a decent one.

I can't think of a thing that isn't ridiculously expensive and impractical. The old "T-shirts, underwear and socks" thing would be great. Maybe some new kitchen toy but I don't know what.
