I recently sent my book in for a final edit, and now I need to find an publishing agent. I do not want to go to the "vanity press" type of thing and was wondering if anyone on here has any advice on getting a book published?

Keith, one of my co-workers is an author. I will see him in the morning. With your permission I will share your contact information with him and have him contact you directly. He is not a member here. Let me know.

Paging Jenna...paging Jenna :)
$8.99 paperback, 99¢ for the Kindle edition - that's beautiful, and how it should be. Justice in the universe if he actually makes more per sale off the digital editions. He just picked up another sale because the pulp/electron pricing is sensible, and what the hell, I'm a sucker for a dystopia.
My way of saying hold those digital distribution rights dear. Hearing more and more people singing the praises of cutting out the agents and publishers with Kindle and iBook editions, but mostly from known authors or people building off known franchises. No doubt there are a lot of first time authors who boldly went alone and are languishing at 26 sales too. Then again, how many of them just put their book up and called it done? I blame that Iowa cornfield baseball movie.
I only write on O/R though so call those meandering thoughts, not advice. Shoot me a link when your book is available for download since buying books is something I am actually an expert at.
