A week for remembering...and thankfulness
This week, when remembering the Fallen Officers during National Police Memorial Week, we also think of the officers currently serving and all they have done this past year.
Officers patrol the streets as a deterrent to crime. They do their very best to stay one step ahead of the bad guys and help to prevent us from falling victim to criminals. They take our calls for assistance and direct aid and information where it would be of most benefit to us. They have watched over criminals in jail who have intentions of harming us and kept them from doing so further.
Officers are willing to give whatever help they can to make our lives better. And in the coming year, they will continue to be there no matter what the circumstances and no matter what the cost is to them, risking injuries and even risking their lives to protect ours.
Some will be showing our appreciation through gifts of food, thank you cards, hugs, or a simple "thank you." Please join us in thanking officers from local departments where you live.
God bless those who serve.http://www.odmp.org/officer/16551-de...l-eron-shannon
Police Officers put themselves at risk for strangers every day. Some do not make it home to their families. Next time you think of saying something negative about the police, remember...YOU are one of the strangers.
