Smart Phone suggestions
Anybody got any input on Android smart phones? What's good, what's bad... what to avoid? I'm soon to replace an aged LG Ally, and want to get something that'll have decent on-board memory so that I don't get out of memory errors in 6 months as everything updates and gets bigger... Thinking towards Samsungs, but open to others. Slide out real keyboard is nice, but not essential anymore. Durable for work is important... that or Otterbox or similar tough case available.
So -- any suggestions or input?Voting against incumbents until we get a Congress that does its job.

Cruising along with a HTC Inspire. So far I'm loving it. However, I do believe there are faster and better phones. Mine has not updated from it's original software yet.

Casio G'zOne Commando
You don't mention what carrier you have or want, but if you want rugged, then you should take a look at the Casio G'zOne Commando. It is on Verizon, thus it is CDMA. There is also a CAT B10 due out soon, which will probably be for A Fee & Fee. Both of my sons are into swimming in school, so rugged and water resistant is important. I bought used Motorola Defys for both of them. Since I am on T-Mobile Even More Plus I buy my own phones. It saves a fair amount of money by not paying to get a "free" phone.

My Galaxy Nexus is in an Otterbox Defender. I've sat on it with no problems.

I wish the last one was out when I ordered mine. It is newer and might be better. Check Amazon for cases though. If you pay $50 you are getting ripped off.

Wife just got the Motorolla Razor Maxx. Im probly getting one this fall as well. The battery life is double regular smart phones, has a nice big screen and is pretty tough, not as tough as the Casio, but pretty good for a smartphone. I have the Casio Ravine flip phone and can testify to them being waterproof (went swimming with it) and pretty much indestrutable. The software for them is a bit old and outdated but they are tough. Its all about sacrifices... toughness for performance, battery life for lightness.

I have a Samsung. I like it decent enough. I only get smart phones because mine's free when the wife buys hers. Wouldn't care if I had an old flip phone as long as I can call and text.

I have the Galaxy Nexus and love it....with one exception. The external speaker isn't very loud, so it's hard to watch video clips or listen to music if there's much background noise around you.

Apple legal team descending on Five-0's house in 5, 4, 3, 2...
If the MAXX turns out to be your choice there's a decent deal through Amazon to get it on Verizon for 150 and 40 dollar credit on your bill. Not saying that's my pick, just noticed the advert. Looks like the 40 bux works with any 4G phone purchased there through this evening.

The Maxx is a fine phone. For battery life it is the way to go. I fell in love with the Nexus's screen. You can get an extended life battery in the Verizon store for 50% off though. Having a phone with a higher resolution screen than my big screen TV uses juice.

I know the extended battery will fit with my Otterbox and that other case I linked. I still have a stock battery as I plug the phone in at my desk and in the car.

If your truck does not have bluetooth, does it have an auxiliary jack? I use my vehicle speakers for GPS and Pandora. It is not the "speaker". It is the internal speaker settings.

Oh, it does kill the Iphone. My wife went with a 4S and it isn't even close.

I'm rocking a Galaxy Nexus also. Pretty happy with it, it does what I need it to do.
