    2012 was warmest year on record in lower 48 states of the US

    They've never seen anything like it: Government scientists said Tuesday they're surprised by a jump in temperature that made 2012 the warmest year on record in the lower 48 states. Changes in temperature usually come in tiny fractions of a degree. But the average for 2012 -- 55.3 degrees -- beat the 1998 record, by one full degree.

    Yep. Where I live we had over 6 feet 6 inches of rain! Only Keith would survive.
