Dr King was not a saint. He was a sinner, said so many times. I didn't agree with the holiday since the Postal Service already takes off 160 days a year and eventually they'll run out of days. Haven't heard a truth ring out like he used dream of for quite some time... and inspiration? Our other brightest and best have been telling us to hide under a desk since the 50s.

Need a vision to imagine, need a route for that vision to make it a story. The story is about the message, not Jonah or his pet whale. This holiday doesn't give good service to the intent.

King's speech includes the line "I have a dream, that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.

I am neither for nor against the holiday. However, when it comes to potent and compelling words that have been wasted on the world it would be the above.
