Queen Elizabeth's advisors, hoping for the best but preparing for the worst, drafted a speech for her to deliver in the event of World War III.The speech, revealed Thursday as part of a 320-page war games exercise codenamed Wintex-Cimex 83, was written March 4, 1983."Now, this madness of war is once more spreading through the world and our brave country must again prepare itself to survive against great odds," the speech said, with the queen recalling World War II and her father delivering a similar address. "Not for a single moment did I imagine that this solemn and awful duty would one day fall to me."
