Wal-Mart Security tasers robber
Security guard uses Taser, chases robbery suspect - WKRN, Nashville News, Nashville Weather and Sports
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
It was a wild ride in Antioch Friday morning after a security guard chased down two alleged robbery suspects.
It began at the Walmart located on Hamilton Church Road when the security guard saw two men leaving with a cart full of merchandise, presumably unpaid, just before 1 a.m.
The guard first attempted to stop the suspects in the parking lot. One suspect fled on foot and the other jumped into a gray Pontiac.
The guard continued to pursue the driver, who backed up the vehicle and wedged the guard between the car and the open door. The guard then deployed a Taser at the driver.
Once the driver recovered, he continued to back up, knocked the guard to the ground, and took off down the road.
The guard told police he chased the suspect in the vehicle in an effort to get a license plate number. He was able to catch up with him less than one mile from the Walmart property, at the intersection of Bell Road and Zelida Avenue, where the suspect wrecked his vehicle.
According to police, the guard broke the driver's side window and held the suspect in custody until officers arrived.
The detained suspect was transported to the hospital for his injuries. He will be charged with aggravated assault.
Neither the contents of the shopping cart nor the value of the merchandise the two men were accused of taking from Walmart was immediately disclosed.
While the guard is credited with capturing one of the suspects, Metro police noted the guard is not a police officer.
Anyone with information on the second suspect is urged to contact Metro police at 615-862-8600.

Welcome to the forums PhillipTang. Please visit the Intro forum and tell us a little about yourself. As far as the article is concerned...Who cares if the guard isn't a police officer. The reporter made it sound as if he didn't pursue the guys just followed until they wrecked. One dipshit is in custody and was tased for his trouble. I hope the guard isn't sued or fired. Other than that all's well that end's well. Maybe the guard should move on to police work.Do not war for peace. If you must war, war for justice. For without justice there is no peace. -me
