Ever have one of those weeks?
Last week was a disaster! First off, I took my Ford in and $700.00 later, it was fixed. Then on Friday, my 17-year-old came home drunk, and I called and had the city cite her for underage drinking. (for more on her, see the forum "Kids, Grrrr.....) On Saturday, my oldest daughter was driving home from college and a tire blew out while she was on the highway. We got her a new tire and when she got ready to leave, the "check engine" light was on in her Pontiac. She took the Ford and I took her car to the shop. $250.00 later, it was fixed. She was bringing the Ford home yesterday to exchange it for the Pontiac, and she hit a deer! I'm getting afraid to leave the house!

There’s a promise I need you to make
While I’m gone you take care of the love
And I’ll deal with the hate.
Don’t worry about me; I’ll be all right
Just care for your children and sleep tight
I’ll keep you safe on my watch tonight

Poor guy. Thought my luck was bad lately. We took the Toyota to the shop and $600 later and a new transmission that they paid for, we have it working fine. I traded in a 2002 Isuzu POS for a 2002 Mazda Millenia and now thew check engine light is on it and I have to take it to the shop. Well I hit a turkey in my patrol care and it went to shit on me yesterday and I had to get it fixed. Well, I was driving a pool car and got a flat! I guess I am going to have to get a horse and start riding!
Cheer up, it will only get better !! (I hope
)
It is better to be tried by 12, than carried by 6.

I'm glad I'm not alone in the bad luck category. Just keep looking for the light at the end of the tunnel and hope it's not a TRAIN! Peace and be safe! Bad luck sucks, but at least you're healthy and your family is safe. Could've been worse.

Nebraska has MIP Consumption. Anything on the PBT over .02 is an automatic arrest and we can only release them to their parents (this policy depends a lot on agency P&P and your county attorney). Same penalty as if we got 'em with a case of beer in hand. If it's in their system, they're done dealin'. And if they're driving, it's called a "baby DUI". Same penalty as regular DUI. Regardless of all that, teen drinking is out of hand in small towns, not sure about the big cities because I never worked a big city.

In Wisconsin we have the "Not A drop" law. Anyone under 21 can be cited for Underage Consumption if they have even a single drop of alcohol in their system. Under age 16, they can only be released to their parents. I could have written my own kid a cite, but that would have been a little too radical. She's also grounded for a month, and isn't too happy about any of it.

I would say you need a nice weekend out on the boat with a couple 2-tree cases of some brew and a fishing rod with no kids no wife no phone no nothing. Just chill out and relax out there.
