Cell Phones
What do you use?
I now have 3 cell phones I have to tote
around with me 24 hours a day
One is unlimited time 24 hours a day (2nd from left). The second is a "company" phone (on left). And the third is a "private line" where only a very few chosen people have the number (on right).
Anyhow, last night I upgraded the "company phone" to a new Motorola RAZR V3C. Absolutely amazing cell phone. I love it!

My unsophisticated phone thats way more beat up looking than the one in the picture. lolThere’s a promise I need you to make
While I’m gone you take care of the love
And I’ll deal with the hate.
Don’t worry about me; I’ll be all right
Just care for your children and sleep tight
I’ll keep you safe on my watch tonight

Samsung A900 blade with Sprint. Love this thing. I like the Razr too, but this thing just looks so much sharper IMO. Much less teeny bopper. And the camera tilts and can be positioned so the lens is protected when not in use. And with external MP3 buttons. And Sprint Power Vision enabled.

I have one, the cheapest sumbitch I could find. I keep it in the glovebox of my truck and turn it on only when I want to make a call. I have no desire to be that much in contact with anybody.
More times than I like to think, I've seriously thought about grabbing one out of some jerk's hand and throw it as far as I could. Usually when we're in line at a store and all things have to stop while they talk to some other dipshit.
Cell phones have made people think they're a lot more important than they really are. When I used to be somebody (I'm center top)

I don't carry anything special but it works when I need it. There are many times I have wondered...................how did we survive before the cell phone? I know I used to have peaceful drives to work and back home. When I ran to the store I didn't have anyone calling me saying, "Can you pick me up this or that" I could sit through dinner at a nice restaurant and not hear contant ring/beep/songs/etc, Kids actually had to come home to talk to their parents......good ol' days....but the cell phone does most definitely come in handy at times.

As for me, I have a Samsung through Verizon. I use it mostly for work calling the Sgt., Lt., and a few other departments I need through the night on scene. Occasionally mom will call, and the G/F will call. That's about it.
Only Supervisors, some specialty units, and other misc. people get company cell phones at work. Otherwise, all Deputy's have pagers, and that's it. And considering how many pages I get from work, we should all just be issued cell phones.Last edited by cntryboy0531; 05-26-06 at 05:48 AM.

As for me i think the damn things should be banned from being used by any operator of any motor vehicle that is in motion.
If you can't do it from a boat. Do you really want to do it?

I have seen some local cops driving plain downright stupid because they always have cell phones stuck up to their face and not paying attention. Which includes one running a red light and almost hitting the passenger side of my car where my 13-year-daughter was sitting.
