Ufc Fight
any of u guys/gals watch the UFC fight? I have never really been interested in this sport till recently, but i must say its definately got my attention now.
Those of u who did watch it, would u have ever thought that Hoyce Gracie would have got his ass handed to him like he did? I wasn't really sure which fighter would prevail even though i was leaning towards Hughes a little. What do u think?

Personally I'd like to see UFC banned in this country. I'm all for a good boxing match but this goes beyond what is decent. Just mho.

In it's original form the UFC was pretty barbaric. No weight classes & very few rules. Now with the weight classes & a few more rules to protect the fighters it is finding wide acceptance with the mainstream. I see Tank Abbot & Tito Ortiz around town from time to time.

Mark Kerr lives in my jurisdiction, and he's pretty f'ed up on painkillers. He was called in as a sspicious person a while back (he was in a ditch throwing big landscape rocks around....said he was training for a comeback...
), and the first thing my partner did when we arrived onscene was to tell him "Mr. Kerr, I'm a huge fan, but I gotta tell you...if you get Mickey Mouse on us, I know which knee of yours is all fucked up and don't think I'll hesitate to put a boot in it if I have to." He kinda chuckled "Nah, guys, it's cool. I want to take you guys out to dinner! You're the good guys!"
Like I said...ALL fucked up."If anything worthwhile comes of this tragedy, it should be the realization by every citizen that often the only thing that stands between them and losing everything they hold dear... is the man wearing a badge." -- Ronald Reagan, in the wake of the deaths of 4 CHP troopers in the Newhall Incident, 1970

Do you know what is going to happen now....gracie is probably going to challenge for a rematch or one of the other brothers is going to challenge hughes....

Royce was away from UFC way too long. He was arguably the best submission fighter back in the day. But when UFC started getting really rough i.e. punches, elbows he bowed out because his style doesn't match up well to that.
11 years later and it's the same. The fighter now are much better than back then.

06-02-06, 07:52 PM #16All true not to mention the fact he's 40 years old. I picked Hughes to win the fight. Won dinner not that I'll ever get that.

Did you guys see how Gracie's arm was bending back when Hughes was trying to submit him. Gracie was so freaking calm. It looked like his arm popped, I would have been screaming! lol
It is better to be tried by 12, than carried by 6.

DAMN DAMN DAMN, I wish I saw the fight...

We had a nice little get together here for the fight. It was funny, our friends wife (also a cop) had never seen any of the UFC fights. She loved it. Hell they even tipped in on the $$ for the Pay-Per-View. Of course we are ready to watch the July 8th fight too. Shamrock v/s Ortiz! Thats gonna be a good fight too! Cant wait!
Sorry ya missed it E-man. Be prepared for July 8th lol
