I was just thinking, what if we were being invaded by the Aussies rather than our no hablo Pablo from south of the border? I'd much rather hear "G'day mate" that "no habla."

I'm with Stan, at least Steve is willing to assimilate into American society and learn our ways, that is half the battle. He can be our own Paul Hogan or Steve Irwin if you will. In time he will learn to spell correctly but at least he speaks 'English' and we can understand him for the most part. And we all have accents in one form or another so thats no big deal, either.

I'm going to be nice this time around- I figure my karma tank is low.
Here's a good, basic site that covers the US Constitution.

You'll know when the Ausies invade they start by taking all the Bar jobs serving drinks. If you don't believe me go to london UK there everywhere. Every bar we went into had an Aussie working there.

Hey, if you start learning about the constitution and stuff you are going to be quite a few years ahead of our average high school graduate. I am not sure if that is fair to the general populace. On a different note, are you planning on being a cop in the US? Let me know where you go... I am from NY living in NC and I get hasseled all the time for my accent. I'd love to know how they react to you.

You can find a fair amount of information through the National Archives. They have a very good series of sites starting at http://www.archives.gov/national-arc...freedom_1.html that explains how several of the fundamental documents in US history came about, and includes transcriptions of the Declaration of Independence, and the Constitution and Bill of Rights, among others.
