Funny Money
I'm standing at the check out counter at work the other day cashiering and being bored out of my mind. A gentleman walks up to check out, I scan the items, tell him his total, and he hands me a $20 bill. Store policy is all bills $20 and above have to be marked to make sure they're not counterfiet. So I mark the bill and he asks me "If you get one that's fake do you give it back to the customer?" All I could say was "No". It just caught me off guard, he would ask that because the guy was 30 or 40 years old I would guess and I figured anyone that old should know better then to ask that.

Good Job! You're right but don't ever put yourself in jeopardy over the money if the person gets violent.

I'd never put myself in jeopardy over money whether it's fake or not, or in my till. $6/ hr ain't worth it. And I wouldn't do it if they paid me more then that.Although if something did happen and I lived, I'd get some time off..........

Be careful when dealing with counter fitters!!!!
It might be the poor smuck that got the bill as change earlier in the day and has no idea that it is "funny money."
We have had an influx of fake $100.00 bills lately."We're surrounded. That simplifies the problem."

If your enemy is secure at all points, be prepared for him. If he is in superior strength, evade him. If your opponent is temperamental, seek to irritate him. Pretend to be weak, that he may grow arrogant. If he is taking his ease, give him no rest. If his forces are united, separate them. If sovereign and subject are in accord, put division between them. Attack him where he is unprepared, appear where you are not expected.

So far I haven't had anybody get nasty with me marking the bills, I figure tough shit if they don't like it, it's part of my job as the cashier. If it's that big of a deal they can pay with a check or credit card. It doesn't matter to me as long as they have a way to pay for what they're buying.

Had a customer bring in a shredder he bought the day before said it didnt' work, turned out he wasn't putting it in the basket right so that the safety mechanism would turn off, if you don't place it in the basket just right the machine won't turn on so that it doens't get damaged.
