Thread: GPRS/EDGE internet

Hey. After seeing the Sprint Mobile Broadband we have in our squads, I want something like this for my own laptop. Sprint, however, does not have broadband coverage where I live, so I looked into other carriers. T-Mobile has a pretty sweet deal with $29.99 unlimited GPRS/EDGE internet.
Does anybody have any experience with any of this, and could tell me if it's worth it?

Well, it's not broadband but I can use my cell phone as a modem anywhere I can get a cell connection.
Sprint is my carrier, all I have to pay for is $10 a month for PCS vision.
PM me if you want more info."My motivation is slipping, people bug me, and I'm tired of wasting my time on drivel."

I still have a 1xRTT Sierra Wireless Aircard 550 on the Sprint network in my Panasonic Toughbook CF-28 in my squad. Although I certainly don't have the answers to the questions in your post, the folks at http://www.evdoforums.com/index.php have been very knowledgeable in the past in my not so humble opinion.

I checked out the EVDO page. Lots of good info. Seems I won't be going Verizon for sure (not that they have coverage here anyways). I am wondering about Sprint though. The Sgt said he's used his laptop with the card in places listed as not covered. Maybe he was just connected to GPRS and didn't notice it was slower than normal. Who knows...Alpha Phi Sigma Alum - Alpha Delta Chapter
