What the hell is up with Memphis?
Not Memphis the user name of one of our buddies here, but Memphis the CITY! What the hell? In the last six months alone I recall about eight or nine "incidents" (as the pacifist, cry-baby media would call them) being covered by national news in the city of Memphis. The latest is the grocery store employee attacking eight others with a butcher knife and being subdued by an accountant with a Glock Nine. What is up with you guys down there? Is it a permanent full moon or is Will just trying to get that union contract agreement by raising the work load????LOL? Peace!!!

Damn, Dude. I was just poking fun at you. I had no idea it was so bad. We only make national news when there's a tornado or someone famous gets a sunburn on a golf course here. Stay safe!

I'm surprised New Orleans is only 8th on the list after all that happened there. Why haven't cities #1-7 called in the National Guard?
And what's up with Washington DC as the 13th most dangerous, even more dangerous than Memphis? I've been to DC many times, and it seemed very safe--at least the area with the government buildings did.

During the day it is nice and (mostly clean).
In DC we are up to 98 homicides
As of 2006, the city of Memphis had an estimated population of 680,768
The population of the District of Columbia, as of 2005 U.S. Census Bureau estimates, is 582,049 persons.
So Memphis has 100k more people and we have almost the SAME AMOUNT OF HOMICIDES!
That's a really obvious indicator that something is really wrong in DC.
DC in every place has a lot of crime. Where the government buildings are it is kept clean business hours, but they really come out during the night.
That being said Bike patrol was very fun on midnights lol

I'm surprised Dallas is that low - I think one reason it isn't higher is that a good portion of the murders, robberies, home invasions, carjackings, and all that are occuring in the surrounding cities, not Dallas proper.
Can't wait for the 2006 UCR's to come out, so the politicians will stop crowing about how much better it's getting, and start cracking down again.

Memphis. Bunch of freakin' weirdos. Yes, I think we have a permanent full moon. And Nawlins residents who won't go home. And low morale in the ranks of the police depatrment, further influenced by politicians who think they are gods and all police are worthless.
Fact is, Memphis is a sinking ship, everyone is fleeing. I plan on moving to east Tennessee in the next five years.

in the hood its all good. part of the problem in memphis is the fine citizens elect convicted felons to public office, and we have judges that hate the police. plus we have a lot of police officers that do not work.
