I agree- good post. I had seen them before, but it never hurts to see something like that again.
It's oddly comforting, really. Seeing LAPD having to battle with it's city council, just like we do. I honestly think our city council members live on a different planet. Although thanks to the efforts of our chief, they are becoming more aware of our problems and doing their best to get us the equipment we need, there was one point in time where a councilman thought that we, the police, worked Mon-Fri 9 to 5.The virtue of spirit has no need for thanks or approval. That is exactly like the area I work in. When the project dweller is talking about the injustices brought down on the community like the lack of a YMCA, or parks etc. he forgets to mention that these places when they are put in are taken over by bangers almost immediately. We have the problem here in Chicago as well, as far as getting more officers. From what I hear we are at around 8500 and we are supposed to be at 13500. We are understaffed and what sucks is that the resources get poured into the areas that I work and they get pulled from where I live. Great post.
