Top of the fence was attached, the bottom was not. He drove under the top part of the fence and the chain length part just slid over his car. The unit following him probably thought that it was much easier to explain to his Lt. that the guy got away rather than how he ripped his lightbar off the top of his car.

I don't know if I am right or not, but it looks to me like the top left is not atached. Anyone else see that? My thing is this how did the fence come back up after he came under it?
And Shepards we shall be,
for thee, My Lord, for thee,
Power hath descended forth from Thy hand,
That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy Command.
So we shall flow a river forth to Thee
And teeming with souls will it ever be.

Well, I think we all know there's a logical explanation for what happened.
But, it's still kind of creepy right?? Guy is obviously driving beyond the fence, cop turns his car....and all of a sudden there's a fence there?? Come on, that's kinda eery. I beleive the bottom of the fence is not attached which let the car through, but it is hard to beleive there is no damage (stretching to) the chain links. It would also seem that it would be still swaying because of the motion of the car lifting it up and it slamming back down, but it is hard to tell given the flashing lights on the fence.
I wonder if the bad guy knew the fence would give or if he thought he'd crash into it try his luck. Either way.... he'll do something stupid again someday and get caught.

He had boosters attached to the side of the car and he launched himself over the fence. Or the Alien spacecraft lifted his vehicle up and over the fence, because the aliens were out joy riding.
You are right though that announcer is annoying as hell.

ok, to me it looked like the top fence rail on the left hand side was unattached, and the fence itself wasn't attached to the side post. Typically the sides are held in place by a flat bar, which is then strapped to the end post. If the fence was attached to the top rail and the flat bar, but unattached to the side post, it would swing like a door and fall back shut with minimal bouncing of the fence itself. It looked like the guy knew where he was going to me, if not precisely how to get there. Maybe it was his version of a trap door?

Part of me wants to not believe in that wierd crap because of the deductive reasoning side of the job, but another part of me tends to creep out about certain things I have seen (won't discuss it here 'cuz y'all will poke fun). I'm just torn. Anyone got some tape!?!?!?!
