It's STUCK!
I ran out of the high-dollar tape we use to stick on our SWAT helmets where we Sharpie our blood type before a hot raid. I grabbed some damn dollar store crap and it was 107 degrees that day! The stuff melted INTO my Kevlar and I've tried everything. Damn! Don't wanna buy a new helmet. Help me out!

WD-40 will remove adhesive. Just let it set for a few minutes and wipe it off

Could you put good tape over the goopy spot and just leave it? Your blood type doesn't change between raids, may as well just put it on once.

WD 40 will eat the kevlar.
And Shepards we shall be,
for thee, My Lord, for thee,
Power hath descended forth from Thy hand,
That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy Command.
So we shall flow a river forth to Thee
And teeming with souls will it ever be.

Maybe it would be wise to call Goo Gone's manufacturer to make sure it won't weaken Kevlar too... It could weaken it and not be noticible.
Remember the problem with detergent weakening Zylon.

I'd be reluctant to use "Goo Gone" or any equivalent; it's likely to be strong enough to harm the helmet. We used some to remove some graffiti on a toilet stall once; it removed the graffiti -- right down to the bare metal! WD40 might work, and you might try rubbing alcohol.

Goo Gone is basically orange oil and their site says it can't be used on "Non-washable fabrics, such as silks and satins, and natural materials, such as leather, suede, and rubber. It's not for photos, as it could damage the emulsion on the paper and be absorbed by the paper, leaving a yellow tint." Apparantly they have a goo gone hand soap that can be used on skin and pets, maybe check that out? They've got a ton of different varietes, and the ones that take off paint are labled as such. The standard goo gone is what we use to take off stickers from paperback book covers, and the automotive variety is designed for tar, bumper stickers, grease, etc. They do have a "Send us your question" form, but their contact phone is 800-328-9248 so maybe just call and as.

Ducky has become the spokeswoman for Goo Gone! lol We used it around the house remodeling, the people before us had glued the paneling up and nailed it.. So once we got it off the wall there was big glue spots. Goo Gone was the only thing to remove it and it didn't hurt the walls none. Plus I just had to use some to get the old decals off one of the boys football helmets and it worked to get all that off without hurting it any.
It is better to be tried by 12, than carried by 6.

Naa, not quite, although there was one day when my 12 year old just would NOT leave me alone for 5 minutes no matter what I did, and it wasn't the pleasant kind of company either. More like the natter natter nag nag "Buy me this!" kind of company. I actually thought of giving her a quick spritz with the stuff to see if it would peel her off of my hip for a while. I didn't do it, but I thought about it.

Try nail polish remover(acetone),I am forced to park my unit under a pine tree that took a lick from Katrina, and leaks pine sap all over it,so once a week I de-sap it with nail polish remover,a little elbow grease and it comes right off without hurting the paint.

Ummm, doesn't acetone eat plastic? I thought it basically disolved things that are made of anything resembling synthetic fabric.
Oh hell, here's the link for cleaning instrustions for Kevlar, from Dupont itself. http://www2.dupont.com/Personal_Prot...arelh77866.pdf
Or, here's the contact info for Dupont, as found on the Kevlar Armor Technology literature. Call and ask.
