This is called the Nigerian Scam Letter. It's been around for years. People used to receive this in the snail mail. I can't believe they're still trying this.

Even when you tell them your Law Enforcement and that you know its a scam, they still write you. I had one then thank me for getting back to them and wanted me to send all kinds of info...yea right. Hold your breath and here it comes!!!!

I get them occasionally... I always tell them to put it in a Swiss bank and send me the account & passkey numbers. I'll handle it from there

I know several people who go to insane lengths to see what they'll do in response, including stupid names... Like "consulting with their financial adviser, a noted railroad tycoon, Gomez Adams."

I receive on average one a day. I don't even bother reading them. I just click on the delete key. Trust me, the delete key works like a charm... hasn't let me down yet.

Its fun to play along and you can actually bait them for quite a while....

On a related note, like with all other spam, its best to just delete witout opening if you can, because some emails can have an "opened" message sent back(even if you just open and dont reply) which encourages more spam because now a spambot knows your address is at least a legit email addy...

My brother (the emt) got one here's how he handled it. He wrote " I am former military and I feel this is a threat to my national security. I have sent a copy of this to the local FBI office. Do not contact me again or I will take further action". He forwarded a copy to me and I lmao. I had never thought of that that might acutally scare them maybe?
