It called water you may refur to is as H20 you should get some while your working and make sure to drink it. I also bring quick snacks on the hot days like poptarts are something, it helps.

If you need a video reference i recommend Waterboy.

try turning on the a/c that might help. with the vest on ure going to sweat ure ass off all the time so u have to drink fluids all the time. u can spray sum fabreeze on the vest carrier to get the funk out and let it air out if u dont want to wash it every day

Febreeze the hell out of your carrier!! You can only wash it so many times.

As for the water, remember there is no Montezuma's curse here.

Might want to see about some Underarmor or the Starter equivalent, if you haven't already. I've been told that it helps a lot more than a cotton undershirt.

Thats why in the summer on day shift I always stop and get me a 18 pack of Coors Light after I sign on. My motto on dayshift is .08 by 8. Theres no way Im gonna have a heat stroke

I was only joking no on PM me and tell that its wrong to drink at work

add about one table spoon of apple cider vinegar to 8 - 10 ounces of water and drink that.. it helps with your electrolytes naturally and balances out the acid in your tummy
you feel better in the heat...
it works for me here on days in miami

When I was on patrol, I found that a Camelbak came in handy. Fill it up with ice and H2O, and put it between the seats or hang it on the cage.

Also, stay away from caffine (yeah I know, it is what keeps most of us awake) but it does not help with the hydration process.

Dehydration and a near miss car accident due to reading online. I forsee a long career for you.

Drink lots of water and gatorade. Bring a cooler, fill it with ice, keep some in the car.

Get a lighter vest. Get a level IIA if you can. The lighter the vest the more comfortable it is to wear. just make sure it is rated for what you carry in the event of a disarm.

I know its not PC anymore.... but doing what you do, do you feel you need to wear a vest?

It is better to be tried by 12, than carried by 6.

Wear the vest, Tony. Read the officer down tabs. Wear the vest no matter the sweat. Keep up on the fluids, stop whining. Its all part of the fun. Wait until you have to run someone down wearing the damn thing in the sun.

Someone mentioned Underarmor. They work pretty good, but I have to go with the 5.11 shirts. They have mesh under the armpits that let a little air in that way and seem to me to be a little more comfortable. Just my .02!
