Sad news on the Ducky front
Mr Ducky's father passed away today. We're in Alabama now, and helping his mom take care of funeral arrangements, but any positive thoughts you can send his way would be greatly appreciated. The whole family is holding up well, but as it just happened, everyone's still on auto pilot.
For those of you I talk to regularly, it may be easier to find me on yahoo messenger. I'll be online, but doing things like making up the bulletins for the funeral and stuff. Yes, I know the funeral home can do that, but I'm not going to allow them to charge $175 for something I can do better in 15 minutes and with $10 worth of specialty paper from Staples.

The man who will go where his colors go, without asking who will fight a phantom foe in the jungle and mountain range, without counting, and who will suffer and die in the midst of incredible hardship, without complaint, is still what he has always been, from Imperial Rome to sceptered Britain to democratic America. He is the stuff of which legions are made. ...His pride is in his colors and his regiment, his training hard and thorough and coldly realistic, to fit him for what he must face...and his obedience is to his orders. He has been called United State Marine.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I remember in the chat room that he was from the Cheaha Mountain area. I was actually at Cheaha on Saturday. The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government.

Thanks, guys. So far, so good. He was sick (cancer) for over a year, but looked to be on the mend till about a month ago when they discovered new spots. It went downhill pretty quickly from there. It's constant meetings right now with funeral homes and insurance agents. I think there's more paperwork involved with death than there is with taxes, as hard as that is to believe.
