Where Were You on 9/11?
The generation before were always asked where were you and what were you doing when Kennedy was shot? Everyone seems to know where they were and exactly what they were doing. SO......where were you when the planes crashed into The Towers on 9/11?
I was in my office when my last patient came running back to tell me to come see the TV in the waiting room. There was a crowd around the TVs and 'Something' was going on in NYC....a plane had hit a building....nothing else was known.
My Father was in the air during these events. With no info available for some time my Dad was MIA.

I was in my truck, taking my shepard to the vet to get her cast cut off. The morning dj said motherfucker on the radio and I started to pay attention to what was going on. Get to the vets office and everyone is gathered around the TV. That was a bad day.

I had worked night shift the previous night, so I was in bed asleep when it happened. When I got up at about 1:00pm it was still on the news and I just sat there with my coffee staring at the TV not knowing what was going on. I was still in a daze when I went to work that night.

I was putting my uniform on for day shift and watching the news. I ran into the bedroom and woke up my girlfriend. Work was a little different that day.

I'd just gotten to work, having just flown in from a business trip. Someone ran in and said that a plane had hit the WTC, and until we turned on the tv we thought it was a small private plane who'd gone off course. I will never forget the sight and sound of one of my coworkers as he ran out of the building...his wife worked in the South tower. He didn't know until late that night that she'd make it out safely.

I was at school when I found out. No one at school actually told the students until about noon that something was going on and than we watched it on tv pretty much all day.

I was at home, worked night shift when my beeper started going off. Checked in and was told of the situation and then ordered to report for duty. Took me a little bit to comprehend what was going on that day. I couldn't believe we were being attacked.

I was getting ready for work when Cops came running into the house. He had just come back from taking our son to school when a neighbor friend told him what had happened. I never made it to work that day, and we pulled our son out of school (we wanted to make sure he heard about it from Mom and Dad). As a side note, I remember spending a lot of time on the phone with family (mine are scattered all over the place). Although we didn't know why, we knew our lives would forever be changed that fateful day. May those who lost loved ones find some comfort in knowing that we will never forget.

I had worked night shift and had just gotten to sleep, when I heard my roommates being very loud. I started listening to them, then I heard one of them say "Holy shit dad, what the fuck is going on?" Then I heard the other one say, " Oh, fuck another plane." I had no fucking clue what was going on. I went downstairs and just stared at the TV. Well, about 5 minutes later my pager went off and back to work I went. It took me a few hours to grasp what was going on.
God Bless America. 9-11 Will NOT be Forgotten! It is better to be tried by 12, than carried by 6.

I was sitting in my off duty car while my elderly parents were grocery shopping. I heard about the first tower being struck and thought it was an errant plane. However, when the second tower was struck, I knew we were under attack. The Pentagon and Pennsylvania confirmed it all. I was in a daze all day just sitting and watching TV. I remember how strange it looked with no planes in the sky.

I was in my senior year of high school. We went from class to class watching it replay over and over all day while I wondered about my cousin who's office was in the building across from one of the towers, and my Grandfather who worked in DC. I remember feeling like I was watching a movie and thinking things would never be the same again.

I was in class when someone burst in and announced that a plane had crashed into one of the towers. We then turned on the tv just in time to watch the instant replay, followed by live footage of the second hit.
I'll never forget the cold "OH FUCK!!!" feeling I got as I helplessly watched the second plane steering toward the building... and again, as each tower fell straight to the ground, as if they were being professionally demolished, with thousands still inside...
cant believe it was almost 5 years ago already... seems more like 2Last edited by General Patten; 09-10-06 at 04:32 PM.

I was at my moms helping her move. I remember watching the tv thinking oh shit things are gonna get more interesting here in the U.S. I also remember watching the T.V and seeing people jumping out of the buildings.

I remember I was in grade five. We all knew something was going on, but the teachers wouldn't say anything. Then about an hour later, my teacher brought us all to the back of the room and sat us down, and I remember her exact words: "Terrorists are attacking the United States"

I was sleeping when the first plane hit. My husband called me and said "We are being attacked" and I was like "WTH are you talking about?". I turned on the TV and saw the second plane hit......i couldn't believe it. I was due with our first child in 9 days and I kept thinking all day long 'dont go into labor today'. I think I sat and watched TV for a straight week......and I vividly remember people running through the streets and that huge white/black cloud of dust chasing them when the towers crashed. I still cry whenever I hear songs about it, or see the footage.

I was in first hour physcial science class. Our 1st hour teacher wouldnt' let us watch the TV so a group of us left class and went to the cafeteria to watch it.

My Father was in the air flying from Florida to Boston on 9/11. When the first plane hit and we realized what was going on we tried to get in touch with the airlines... that was before anything was released. The rest of the world was trying to get in touch with the airlines also. When we finally got an answer they said the plane was making an unscheduled landing in PA. Several minutes later was when Flight 93 crashed in that field in PA.
During the landing in Philly my Father borrowed a cell and called us. He said as they were flying towards NJ they all saw the smoke from The Towers. One of the few times I think planes allowed the used of cell phones in mid-flight. Someone called another passenger and told of the planes crashing in the The Towers. When they landed in Philly they were kept on the runway for a long
time and then the pilots made an announcement there had been a terrorist attack in NYC.
