It finally happened....

I found my G spot...

no just kidding... all laughing aside I am greatful to be alive.

I witnessed a traffic crash while on patrol so I took the easy south side point to protect the vehicles. The man who caused the crash ran a stop sign about 45 mph at least and totalled a van with people. The passenger of the van had a serious head injury.

I was positioning my vehicle and on the radio with dispatch advising when the guy who caused the accident backed his vehicle off the van, turned a hard right and accelerated full speed about 30 head on into my patrol car.

It was an interesting radio transmission lol.... I tried to get out of my car and the door was jammed along with the window and I am looking at his truck tire almost in my face hearing his engine accelerating...
I took the punch off my dash and smashed my window and crawled out.

A back up unit was around the corner and we were able to get him into custody.

He wasnt impared. He had a valid DL, insurance and registration. Never been arrested or had a citation.
He said he was confused.

I was pissed and now I am out a car for six weeks and using a loaner

I was bumped and bruised all over but doing fine and greatful he didnt go into my windshield.

and i just want to say again how greatful i am to be able to come here and laugh greatful to be laughing with my friends and stuff too..

I, too, witnessed a traffic crash while on duty. It's funny how your brain does not process things fast enough sometimes when you need it to. The crash I saw, of course, was some lookieloo checking my squad car out and rear-ended some poor soul (a cop's wife) in front of him. It happened in the middle of an intersection where two, one-way roads meet. Of course I stop in the middle of the intersection, call it out on the radio, and exit the squad. Oh s&*#!, put it in park! Yeah, well at least it wasn't the middle of the day and the roadways were full (heavy sarcasm).
