A Poem for my LE Friends

If you are a female, plase just read it with 'she' instead of 'he'

Prayer for a Friend

God, I ask you today to watch out for my friend. He is a uniquely strong person, with a special purpose. Very few are able to do what he does, and the inherent risks are great.

As he walks, let him walk through the gray areas, as well as the black and white.

Give him the understanding that in some few situations, there are extenuating circumstances. Let him be wise, thoughtful and discerning.

Keep him safe and well, for he has important reasons to be here. He has great work to do.

Keep him strong when he is the one nobody wants to see.
Keep him equally strong when too many need him, all at once.

Let his uniform separate right from wrong, not person from person.
Let all who see him realize, first and foremost, that he is someone.
Let him realize that he can and should feel a full range of emotions.

Finally, if I have ever hurt him, allow me to take on myself the pain I have caused.
Let his heart and soul heal perfectly, so that he never hesitates to reach out.

As he so easily draws people to him, let him always be able
to embrace them.

God, I ask you this, because whether he does or does not think of me,whether he addresses me by my own or another name, I will always call him "Friend."

Your welcome. When i found it, i sent it to a fed friend of mine back in 1999. We are still friends, although he is no longer a cop but still works for the FG
