Who I Am

You don't know me,
But I know you.
I am your guardian angel,
Your knight in shining armor.
But you will never know my name,
And may never even see my face.
I am a police officer,
a silent warrior in the night.
I risk my life every day,
To keep your family safe.
I will pull your child's dog
From the flames of a burning building.
I will take down drug dealers,
To save your child from addiction.
I will keep you alive in a car wreck,
Until the paramedics can take you away.
I will visit with an elderly woman,
So she doesn't feel quite so alone.
I protect your house and belongings,
While you sleep in peace at night.
I have the most dangerous job in the world,
But I do it every day without complaining.
I will make the ultimate sacrifice,
And give my life to save yours.
I do all this just for you,
And ask for nothing in return.
You do not know me,
But this is who I am.
