Damn, traffic guy here and I would just wave him by. Shit no point in even leaving my spot or changing my direction of travel.

If that were on the roads in Detroit, you would want to change your direction just to get a head start on a fatal MC vs. pavement accident.

Just one pot hole and that guy is done.

So, ignoring the speedometer and just looking at the speed at which it looks like he's passing things on the road, do you think he's really going that fast?

Maybe it's just deceiving, but looking at things like the lane markers and turn lanes, it doesn't like look it could be that fast

With today’s capabilities I would tend to think he was really going that fast but you could be right. I have never gone that fast, 170mph in a tricked out Camaro SS was all I wanted. The pavement, markers and lanes appeared to be moving by about the same but it has been awhile since that happened.

Imagine a wasp between the eyes!! WOW that would smart!!!

I would have to agree with you. The roads in FL are just as bad. But is does look like we have a potential canidate for the upcoming Darwin Awards. I still can not figure out why someone would want to drive that fast, never mind on a motorcycle. This guy is probably young and dumb with a slight death wish!!!

I reckon its actually reading in kmh not mph.
Actual speed 140mph which is more likely although it does look like the speedo has kmh on the innner ring of the clock.
Still wouldn't catch it from a standing start though, but its always fun trying.

I call bullshit. Ive been on crotch rockets going 140 and everything seemed like a blur. If you ignore the speedometer and check the surroundings, the cars that he passes towards the end of the video are just cruising along. If you were going that fast, they would appear like small blurs.

If you can think of a stock car, where on some tracks its possible to hit 200mph+, look at the camera's inside the car. You cant see crap save for the tracks and the other cars, thats only cause the other cars are doing the same speed you are.

This Turbo Busa could easily hit 200+mph. Watch the broken painted lane dividers. I wouldn't do this, but it sounds good.

Is it just me or was the turbo busa going faster than the one in my video? Looked as though the white lines might have been going by faster when he was running 170mph or so?

I suppose the only real nightmare about the videos is finding enough bags to put the bits of body in when it all goes horribly wrong.

Several years ago when I worked midnight's I was running stationary radar. I saw one headlight coming at me and could tell it was moving fast. I clock the motorcycle at 93mph. I figured I give it a try. I would give myself about the 4 blocks it would take to get to the city limits and then break it off. The screwball decided to start taking back streets. I was able to keep up with him because of the turns. If he had kept straight, he was a free man. As it was, he dumped the bike and I caught him. I had to show the other officers the speed on the radar and brag a bit. Motorcycles are one of the most dangerous things to chase.
