New Job?
So I applied for a job as a corrections officer at the sheriffs office here a while ago and I had the interview on Wednesday morning. The deputy sheriff and head corrections officer both seemed pretty interested in hiring me, he gave me the jail tour and everything. He is calling me tomorrow to let me know if they are going to hire me. I'll keep you informed on what I find out!

Well they didn't call me on Friday so I started to assume it was a no go but than on Friday evening one of my references told me they called him Friday afternoon, than on Saturday my current boss told me they called her so I started to feel better. I was going to call the person in charge of hiring me today but than he called me and told me they are going to conduct a background check and that they will be keeping in touch, so there is still hope

Funny story,
A long time ago, I applied for a job as a Deputy Jailor here in my county. The last part of the hiring process was a tour of the jail. I made it through the process all the way to the jail tour. About 5 minutes into the tour, inmates that I knew kept walking up to me and wanted to talk. After the 5th or 6th time, the jail Sgt. who was giving the tour asked me to wait in the lobby.
Needless to say, I didnt get the job.

They gave me the tour right after the interview, I found it odd. Needless to say I knew no one in there so that should be a problem

NO DOUBT!!! GOOD LUCK, the waiting is always they hardest part of looking into a new job. I have a Chief's Interview this Wend for a new spot and a different agency. I can't wait but am still a bit nervous. First time outside my current agency to go before "THE MAN". LOL

Well he called me again today. He wants me to come in and meet with him again tomorrow, he didnt say what it was for but he said it wont take long. I told him that I told my current job if the jail hired me I would give them a two week notice when the Jail hired me and he neither confirmed nor denied he just said that that is ok if I continue to work there another 2 weeks. I also told him the only time I see working both times for the 2 weeks was the Homecoming weekend because that is required for everyone to work where I am employed now and he said 'I think that we will be able to work around that'. That sounded to me like they are going to hire me but he still has not said "We would like to hire you" or anything like that, so I'm just all confused. But I will just see how it goes tomorrow and what I am going there for. I'll keep everyone posted.

It's going to be hard, but just be patient. He'll fill you in on the details when you go up there, and in the mean time just relax or you'll be a wreck by the time of the meeting.

Ya, I'm not really stressing about it, it would just be nice if they would just tell me either way instead of like confusing me about it, I guess...

Well it sounds like everything is going okay. They would not keep spending the money if they did not plan on hiring you. They just need to finish the background and you should be good soon!!
We're all rooting for ya
