The Departed
HOLY SHIT was this ever a fantastic fucking flick. The cast was brilliant, and although it was definitely a different Scorcese than his past masterpieces (a la Goodfellas, etc), this was definitely some of his most quality work. Violence and headshots abound, so not the movie to take your squeamish girl to. If you're jonesing fo the type of movie that REALLY makes you think, that you really have to pay attention to, this is it. I will watch it in theaters again, just to see everything I missed the first time through, and I will defintely buy the DVD. Four stars, two thumbs up, whatever. Go see this movie.

I've been places, seen and done things that would make most cry. I've fought along side and against better men then most I come across day to day, i've put my life on the line more then once for things you take for granted and for those you have lost respect for. I don't tell you this for your pity or respect but for you to remember me.

Its a brilliant movie and definitely the best I've seen in a long time.

I'm going to wait until it comes out on DVD and purchase it. No sense in wasting money in the theatres in my opinion! I have a pretty good cop/swat movie collection going so I figured that'd be a nice addition when I first saw the previews...

Remember who you are, and where you came from. That way you never get a big head.
May those that lost their lives in 9-11 RIP, for the things you did not many could do. You left so many behind so that you could save so few. For now we stand strong as one, and will not look back till the fight is done. (me)

I enjoyed the movie, but I wanted to see Leonardo's character win in the end. Hell, with all he went through, he earned it!
Great flick, though.

I finally saw The Departed last night.
It's a great flick. Probably the first movie where I actually liked Marky Mark's character.

We dallied under
Vine maples and sapling alders
Searched for lady slippers
But instead
Found blackberry riots and
Desiccated branches
An old skid road
Brought ghost ferns and
Hollows filled with
Skunk cabbage
While waves wrapped
Intricate lacings of weeds
'Round mule spinners
His cyanotic eyes
Were hard enough to make
The sun turn tail and
Tender enough to attract me
To his world of illusion

One theater is $9.00 per person, (50 cents less for kids and old timers) No beer, and sodas and popcorn for one is about 10 bucks.
The other is $6.00 per adult ($4.00 kids and old timers) AND they have really cheap beer. (draft 24 oz cup for 2.25) Imports are 3 bucks.
It's a no brainer.
