Offensive Halloween costumes?
A guy dressed up as a terrorist for Halloween, sparking outrage all around the internets:

I'm wondering how common this phenomenon is.
What were the most offensive Halloween costumes you saw this Halloween? Did anyone else spot "terrorists" cavorting with statues of liberty or trying to recruit little Power Rangers for the jihad?
And what did you good guys/gals dress up as or dress your spouse and kids up as for Halloween?Last edited by Jenna; 11-05-06 at 11:54 AM.

Most offensive thing I saw was a bunch of kids going door to door in a MUCH better neighborhood than they live in, trick-or-treating with no costume at all. That's not trick-or-treating, it's begging.

That's gone to far in my book.. But there is always some moron who thinks things like that is humor and funny, I think it's sick and sad..
what would the Arabs think if we dressed up as their fake god mohammad? sucking on grapes...

I know I will probably get booed for this, but ya know, a costume is a costume. We have set ourselves up for this kind of stuff. After things like hurricane Wilma, people dressed like the Flintstones. On the other side of the spectrum, how could we not expect to see a suicide bomber costume? We are at war.
There are also more fatigue costumes for little ones and even pets. It's not all bad. And in the extreme cases, it all done in a mockery.

are you for real? Please pinch me, someone wake me from this dream message I just saw.......
Let's start making costumes of dead relatives.. give me a break, there is a fine line to humor, but showing a "American" on his knee's with a gun to his head is funny to you? if so, CIA and the FBI needs to keep a eye on ya...

Well I find it offensive when grown adults dress up like cops for halloween. Them guys looked the part as terrorists and should be watched

While I don't really mind his costume, it was his actions that were stupid. "Executing" an American and reading verses...give me a break!

I think the South Park episode of Steve Irwin in HELL with a sting ray attatched to his chest was terrible. There was also another person (one of those odd ball late night talk show hosts) that dressed up as Steve Irwin with a barb on his chest. I dont mind most costumes but that was alittle much in my opinion. Ofcourse it could just be me!
I'm ready for spring!

I think the costume of the Crocodile Hunter with a bloody barb in his chest was a lot more offensive than the dope with the bomb shirt. Of course if you ever watched Politically Correct on TV, you could understand that he is the king of offensive behavior.

Did you forget 911 and Iraq? and you ask me to "lighten up?" please think about what your saying!
Elvis was fun, and it does not shame his memory at all, matter of fact Elvis would have got a laugh off it.
NO, we are talking about a kid, with fake bombs strapped on him, and a toy gun, witch by the way could get him killed if he where to aim it at a police officer, and having a American kid on the ground with the gun to his head.
what message does that show?????
don't forget, we have men and women fighting over there.Last edited by CopsRCool302; 11-10-06 at 04:18 PM.

Look, I can totally understand how frustrated you are but the topic of this theme was at a private Halloween party. There were no cops to aim a fake bubble gun at and this was in a private home. In public, you see more children dressing up as soldiers which could be interpreted as expressing support. it works both ways. As for the 9/11 remark, of course I have not forgotten, I would not be doing what I am doing had it not been for 9/11. Just as we have men and women fighting over there, we are fighting over here as well. I just think that this is an overreaction and I do believe people have a right to carry on legal activities in their home. It may not be "our" preference, but who are we to tell them what they can do?

Here is what I think, should you be allowed to wear a fucking terrorist costume, hell yea! As Rhino stated, it’s his and every Americans effing right.
My opinion, which is still an American right as well is:
FUCK ANYONE that would put on a terrorist costume and think it was funny, if even for Hollow-ween. That is a person that did not loose a friend or loved one in the 9-11 attack!
I do not give a rat’s ass if I hurt your or anyone's feelings with that post either, because as also Rhino stated, no one has the right to not be offended!
STOP RESISTING!!!!
