So Where Do We Go From Here?
With the recent elections in mind, the firing of Rumsfeld and the shift of power, where do you think we are going in the next two years?
I personally see a Democratic Congress withdrawing money from the military to get us out of Iraq, A steady draw-down of total military force and eventually one big gay-loving flower party in the street as we watch a raghead nuke streak into our city. And I guess we are supposed to just smoke the pole and thank Doctor Dean.

Nope. Now that Rummy is gone, the Iraqi study group headed by James Baker (whose members include Gates) will finally be heard. They have a detailed plan, which will probably involve an initial increase of troops.
Most of the Dems that were elected are on the conservative side of things, and I think have a good handle on what really has people concerned.
I just hope and pray that both sides of the aisle can get past the petty partisanship and take a critical look at what's going on, and not reject ideas out of hand.Molly Weasley makes Chuck Norris eat his vegetables.

I don't think the troops will be coming home any time soon. Just my 2 cents...

I'm just gonna repeat what I said in your Jenna for President thread...
I think we'll get Hillary in 2008 unless the Republicans remember that they're in power because of people like Newt Gingrich and Ronald Reagan.
It pisses me off how the party has snatched defeat from the hands of victory. And I'm afraid that people like John McCain, who sounds conservative but conspires with liberals to write asinine laws like his anti-freedom-of-speech campaign reform bills, will complete the process
Like I said, Bush needs to take this election as a kick in the pants and go into Iraq with three times the troops or ten times the bombs, kick ass and beat that country into submission, or else get the hell out.
And he needs to shut up about immigration reform and seal our southern borders too.

I hope so - I would vote for Newt in a heartbeat.
